Listening Instructions Now that you are familiar with the transcription symbols, the next step involves simply listening to a stretch of talk while reading the transcript. Try this a few times. If you find that you are facing some trouble with particular sounds or transcription symbols you can refer back to the glossary of sounds and symbols (or in your reader). The glossary can be accessed either by clicking on a symbol (if it is red). If you access the glossary by clicking on a red symbol you can return directly to this section by clicking the "go back" button next to the right and left arrows.
