Will: >     In the name of God Amen I James Christy of Salem Township County of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and menory (Blessed be Almighty God for the same) do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to day) first I give and bequeath unto my beloeved wife MARY CHRISTY the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars in ------ and her choice of my horses and one bed and bedding and her choice of my cows (biz one horse and one cow and also to have one room in my house that is to say the front room and also to have two sheep which also is to be her choice which is to be kept on my real estate at the ---------- thereof --------- one --------- and one beaurea and also to be supported on and at the (reference?) of my Real Estate during her life -------- ------. Item To my five sons namely JOHN CHRISTY ANDREW CHRISTY WILLIAM CHRISTY MES CHRISTY and JOSEPH CHRISTY I give the sum of one hundred dollars each which said sum of money shall be due at the ---------------of eighteen months. >James Christy died between 9 Nov 1833 - 22 Nov 1833. James CHRISTY was born on 19 January 1751/52 at N. Ireland.¹ He married Mary CAMPBELL in January 1774. James CHRISTY married Mary McCALL on 22 June 1791. James CHRISTY died on 15 November 1833 at age 81.

     In the name of God Amen I James Christy of North Huntingdon Township in the County of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania being in a weakly state of health but of sound and disposing mind and memory and being ( ) living to settle my wordly affairs while I have strength and capacity so to do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all wills by me at any time heretofore made and First and principally I commit my Soul into the hands of my Creator who gave it and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors that will be hereafter named And as to such Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to entrust me I dispose of the same as follows viz I will that my personal Estate be sold to pay my debts or so much of it as may be necessary for that purpose and my real Estate I will to my wife NANCY Christy for and during her natural life Also I will to my wife whatever may be left of my personal Estate after paying my debts and funeral expenses I allow my Executors to borrow as much money on the Credit of my real estate as may be Wanting after the sale of my personal estate to pay all my debts and said money when borrowed I allow to be a lien On my real Estate until it is sold and the said borrowed money to be paid out of the first proceeds of the sale of my real Estate and after the decease of my wife NANCY Christy. I allow my Executors to sell my real Estate and what may be left of my personal Estate if any to the best advantage he can after paying my debts the borrowed money above mentioned and other incidental Expenses the residue of the money I allow to be equally divided between all my children share and share alike Except my daughter RUTH Christy I allow her ten dollars more than her equal share and lastly I nominate and appoint my wife NANCY Christy and ARCHIBALD B.      I James Christy of Sewickly township late North Huntingdon township do this 2nd day of February make and publish this codicil to my last Will and Testament . . . I allow my wife NANCY Christy her bed and bidding and all that grain of mine now growing in the ground or will be growing at my decease also all the hogs I may own at my decease and lastly it is my desire that this my present Codicil be annexted to and made a part of my last Will and Testament to all intent and purposes. They had 14 children. James CHRISTY died in 1839 at Cherry Twp., Butler County, PA.

     Jannet CHRISTY was born on 25 April 1780. She died on 19 May 1791 at age 11.

     Jennie CHRISTY was born on 15 December 1805. She died in 1899.

     His wife was his first cousin. Sources: Concord Presbyterian Cemetery Military: War of 1812. John CHRISTY was born on 18 December 1774. He married Mary CHRISTY, daughter of John CHRISTY, on 5 July 1803. John CHRISTY died on 29 May 1855 at age 80.

     Have FGS for his son, William M. Christy (1814-1872) and Margaret Kennedy (1823-1885), from Patricia Meyer Franks of Wawaka, IN. John CHRISTY died at Donegal, Butler County, PA.

     Joseph CHRISTY was born on 18 November 1783. He died in May 1881 at age 97.

     Mary CHRISTY was born on 8 March 1790. She died on 28 May 1791 at age 1.

     Mary CHRISTY was Polly. She was born on 25 December 1781. She married John CHRISTY, son of James CHRISTY and Mary CAMPBELL, on 5 July 1803. Mary CHRISTY died on 6 August 1864 at age 82.

     Nancy CHRISTY was born on 22 November 1792. She died on 18 August 1803 at age 10.

     Robert CHRISTY was born in 1795. He died on 12 March 1874 at Cherry Twp., Butler County, PA.

     Sarah CHRISTY was employed. She was buried at United Presbyterian Church, West Sunbury, Butler County, PA. She married Recompense PERRY.

     Sarah CHRISTY was born on 27 October 1785. She married Thomas BIGHAM on 4 April 1804. Sarah CHRISTY died on 6 August 1811 at age 25.

     William CHRISTY died at Parker's Landing, PA. He was born in 1791.

     William CHRISTY was born on 20 January 1778 at Westmoreland, PA. He married Mary HENDERSON on 26 April 1802. William CHRISTY died on 21 September 1854 at Kinsman, OH, at age 76.

     Daughter of William and Mary McClaughlin Conway of Concord Twp. She was the eldest of 8 children. Her father was born during the passage to America from Conegal County Ireland in 1771, while his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Conway were immigrating to the United States (Butler Co. History, 1895. p. 1039). Jane CONWAY married Samuel GLENN, son of James GLENN and Jennet STERLING. Jane CONWAY died in 1878.

      (an unknown value). Rebecca Ann Hill CORDES was born on 13 February 1861. She married Howard Christian ROY, son of John Howard ROY and Elizabeth LEONARD, on 17 November 1881. Rebecca Ann Hill CORDES died on 1 February 1940 at Lancaster, Lancaster, PA, at age 78.

     Edna Pearl COULTER was christened at Concord Church, Butler County, PA. She was buried at Cedar Hill Memory Gardens, Orlando, FL.¹ She was employed. Obituary is in Glenn file.
Moved to Florida in 1960, lived in Daytona.

Obituary: Edna Henning - Special to the News-Journal - Orlando - Edna C. Henning, 85, West Lucerne Circle, a former resident of Daytona Beach, died Sunday at Westminster Towers. Mrs. Henning was born in West Sunbury, Pa., and came to the Central Florida area 32 years ago from Pittsburgh. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach, and was a volunteer poll worker. Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Stevens, San Antonio, Texas, and Sally (Sara) McMichael, Pittsburgh. Bellevue-Cedar Hill, Daytona Beach is in charge. NEED TO VALIDATE: marriage date found as Oct. 31 and Jan 31, 1942. Evelyn Jean COULTER was christened at W.Sunbury, Butler County, PA. She was born on 26 May 1920 at Butler, Butler County, PA. She married Robert Earl STEVENS on 31 October 1942 at East Liberty Pre, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, PA. Evelyn Jean COULTER died on 30 March 2009 at age 88; Evelyn Jean Stevens passed on to the life everlasting on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the age of 88. She was born in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, May 26, 1920 to Samuel and Anna Coulter. She graduated as valedictorian from West Sunbury Vocational School in 1938 and married Robert E. Stevens, October 31, 1942. They had five children. Evelyn was a homemaker, and later an Avon representative for over 20 years. She lived in San Antonio since 1962 and was a charter member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Evelyn is survived by three of her children, Linda Stevens of San Antonio, Tom Stevens of San Antonio, and Gary Stevens (wife Brenda) of Perry, GA; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, son, Robert Stevens Jr., and daughter, Kathy Lewis. Graveside services will be on Friday, March 20th, 11 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 12 PM at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 725 Cedarhust. Pastor Monica Smith will be officiating.¹

She was a former member of the Plum Creek Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a son, Ted McMichael,and his wife Faith of Manassas; a sister, Evelyn Steven of San Antonio, and two grandchildren, Megan McMichael of London and Ian McMichael of Alexandria, Va."

      Theodore Glenn COULTER was christened at Concord Church, Butler County, PA. He was born on 11 December 1908 at W.Sunbury, Butler County, PA. He married Dorothy May DAVIES on 28 April 1939 at Wheeling, W.Va.. Theodore Glenn COULTER died on 12 July 1972 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, at age 63.

     John COWDEN was buried at Portersville Bible Church Cemetery, Muddy Creek Twp. PA. He married Mary (Elizabeth) GLENN, daughter of James GLENN and Jennet STERLING. John COWDEN was born in 1797. He died in 1880.

     Nancy FISH was buried at Unionville Cemetery, Butler County, PA.¹ Daughter of Nathan Fish II and Jane Campbell. Earlier ancestors are listed in a letter to me from Leon Barton in the McCandless file.
Listed in 1850 Census in Center Twp., Butler Co. PA with William C. (24 farmer) and Isaiah (22 doctor). She was born on 7 June 1783. She married William McCANDLESS, son of John McCANDLESS and Jane CAROTHERS, on 3 April 1801. Nancy FISH died on 24 September 1870 at age 87.

     James CUMBERLAND married Jane CAMPBELL, daughter of John CAMPBELL and Ann CHRISTY. James CUMBERLAND was buried at Concord Cemetery, Butler County, PA. In Marshall, (1954), she writes, "...in 1797--the year John Adams became President, Robert Campbell came; also James Cumberland, William Russell, Andrew Christie, Samuel Meals and James Russell." (p. 1) In the same book, "No sooner was the church lot secure in posession of the congregation than ... as the bricks were made by men of the community & burned by Charles and Jacob Kinzer in a kiln located on the James Cumberland farm directly north of the cemetery." He was born on 13 September 1788 at Pennsylvania. He died on 21 April 1868 at age 79.

     Sarah CUMBERLAND married James CAMPBELL, son of John CAMPBELL and Ann CHRISTY. Sarah CUMBERLAND died in 1830.

     Thomas CUMBERLAND was buried at Huggins Cemetery, Highland, OH, OH. Tombstone says 82 y, 8 m, 15 d Highland Co, OH census, 1850, p 606, family 166. He was born on 18 April 1774 at DEL, DE. He married Mary O. MATHEWS in 1805. Thomas CUMBERLAND died on 3 January 1857 at Highland, OH, at age 82.
