Will: >     In the name of God Amen I James Christy of Salem Township County of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and menory (Blessed be Almighty God for the same) do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to day) first I give and bequeath unto my beloeved wife MARY CHRISTY the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars in ------ and her choice of my horses and one bed and bedding and her choice of my cows (biz one horse and one cow and also to have one room in my house that is to say the front room and also to have two sheep which also is to be her choice which is to be kept on my real estate at the ---------- thereof --------- one --------- and one beaurea and also to be supported on and at the (reference?) of my Real Estate during her life -------- ------. Item To my five sons namely JOHN CHRISTY ANDREW CHRISTY WILLIAM CHRISTY MES CHRISTY and JOSEPH CHRISTY I give the sum of one hundred dollars each which said sum of money shall be due at the ---------------of eighteen months. After my decease to my Daughter ALICE RUD I give the sum of Fifthy Dollars To my Daughter ANN RDU I also give the sum of Fifty Dollars and to my Daughter JANNE SLOAN I also give the sum of Fifty dollars to be ---------- in eighteen months after my decease and I give and bequeath to my youngest son DAVID CHRISTY all my freehold estate situate and being in Salem Township afore said (and to his heirs and assigns) and I also give unto my Son DAVID CHRISTY my lot of ground in the Borough of New Salem and also a fficence of grain and hay ------------ ------------------ ----------- ------------- from the time of my decease until the ---- ------ ---------- ---- it is my will that my Son DAVID shall provide a sufficiency of Coal for the use of the room above mentioned and it is my Will that the remainder of my personal Estate be appraised and sold ____ after discharging any funeral pences and all charges _____ the proving of as otherwise conc_____ this my Will and that the residue of the proceed of the Sale thereof be ______ to the payment of the legacies maintained in this my Will and I make and ordain my son DAVID CHRISTY and THOMAS WILSON Executors of this my last Will and Testament Hereby evoking all other wills heretofore by me made ___________ Whereof I have hereunto let my hand and Seal this ninth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eitht hundred and thirty three Signed James Christy (Seal)

     In the name of God Amen I James Christy of North Huntingdon Township in the County of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania being in a weakly state of health but of sound and disposing mind and memory and being ( ) living to settle my wordly affairs while I have strength and capacity so to do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all wills by me at any time heretofore made and First and principally I commit my Soul into the hands of my Creator who gave it and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors that will be hereafter named And as to such Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to entrust me I dispose of the same as follows viz I will that my personal Estate be sold to pay my debts or so much of it as may be necessary for that purpose and my real Estate I will to my wife NANCY Christy for and during her natural life Also I will to my wife whatever may be left of my personal Estate after paying my debts and funeral expenses I allow my Executors to borrow as much money on the Credit of my real estate as may be Wanting after the sale of my personal estate to pay all my debts and said money when borrowed I allow to be a lien On my real Estate until it is sold and the said borrowed money to be paid out of the first proceeds of the sale of my real Estate and after the decease of my wife NANCY Christy. I allow my Executors to sell my real Estate and what may be left of my personal Estate if any to the best advantage he can after paying my debts the borrowed money above mentioned and other incidental Expenses the residue of the money I allow to be equally divided between all my children share and share alike Except my daughter RUTH Christy I allow her ten dollars more than her equal share and lastly I nominate and appoint my wife NANCY Christy and ARCHIBALD B. McGREW to be my Executors for the purpose above mentioned. Witness my hand and seal the 23rd day of July A.D. 1834 James Christy. Witness - John Dickson, Saml McGrew.

     I James Christy of Sewickly township late North Huntingdon township do this 2nd day of February make and publish this codicil to my last Will and Testament . . . I allow my wife NANCY Christy her bed and bidding and all that grain of mine now growing in the ground or will be growing at my decease also all the hogs I may own at my decease and lastly it is my desire that this my present Codicil be annexted to and made a part of my last Will and Testament to all intent and purposes. NEED TO VALIDATE: marriage date found as Oct. 31 and Jan 31, 1942. Evelyn Jean COULTER was christened at W.Sunbury, Butler County, PA. She was born on 26 May 1920 at Butler, Butler County, PA. She married Robert Earl STEVENS on 31 October 1942 at East Liberty Pre, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, PA. Evelyn Jean COULTER died on 30 March 2009 at age 88; Evelyn Jean Stevens passed on to the life everlasting on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the age of 88. She was born in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, May 26, 1920 to Samuel and Anna Coulter. She graduated as valedictorian from West Sunbury Vocational School in 1938 and married Robert E. Stevens, October 31, 1942. They had five children. Evelyn was a homemaker, and later an Avon representative for over 20 years. She lived in San Antonio since 1962 and was a charter member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Evelyn is survived by three of her children, Linda Stevens of San Antonio, Tom Stevens of San Antonio, and Gary Stevens (wife Brenda) of Perry, GA; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, son, Robert Stevens Jr., and daughter, Kathy Lewis. Graveside services will be on Friday, March 20th, 11 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 12 PM at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 725 Cedarhust. Pastor Monica Smith will be officiating.1

Born June 16, 1914, in West Sunbury, she was the daughter of Samuel and Anna D. Glenn Coulter.
She was a former member of the Plum Creek Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a son, Ted McMichael,and his wife Faith of Manassas; a sister, Evelyn Steven of San Antonio, and two grandchildren, Megan McMichael of London and Ian McMichael of Alexandria, Va."

     James CUMBERLAND married Jane CAMPBELL, daughter of John CAMPBELL and Ann CHRISTY. James CUMBERLAND was buried at Concord Cemetery, Butler County, PA. In Marshall, (1954), she writes, "...in 1797--the year John Adams became President, Robert Campbell came; also James Cumberland, William Russell, Andrew Christie, Samuel Meals and James Russell." (p. 1) In the same book, "No sooner was the church lot secure in posession of the congregation than ... as the bricks were made by men of the community & burned by Charles and Jacob Kinzer in a kiln located on the James Cumberland farm directly north of the cemetery." He was born on 13 September 1788 at Pennsylvania. He died on 21 April 1868 at age 79.
