     Abigail EDGE married Edward WOODWARD, son of Richard WOODWARD and Jane NAYLE, on 24 March 1704/5. Abigail EDGE died on 27 September 1716.

     Robert CHAMBERLAIN Jr. died in 1731 at Concord, Chester, PA.

     John NEWLIN was born on 28 February 1690/91 at Concord, Chester Co., PA.¹ He married Mary WOODWARD, daughter of Richard WOODWARD and Jane NAYLE, in April 1711 at Concord, Chester, PA. John NEWLIN died on 10 February 1753 at Chester Co., PA, at age 61.

     He served in the Provincial Assembly for a number of years as a representative of Chester County. He resided at Concord, where he died in Feb of 1731/2. His widow died in 1737. They left 9 children - Nathaniel, Joseph, Nicholas, Nathan, Rachel, Elizabeth, Jane, Mary and Martha.¹

For an interesting account of Nathaniel Newlin's lifestyle, read p. 362-366
of Margaret B. Schifter's "Chester County Inventories." In fact, the whole book
is a great source for the lifestyles of early Chester County! It has
descriptions of clothing, how used, what they were made of, etc., furniture, pottery,
and much, much more.


Nathaniel's list is from 1729,* Concord (-- now a part of Delaware Co). His
affluence is indicated by the long list of possessions, from a watch and cane,
fine furniture and housewares (24 cloth napkins!) to a wide range of cloth
goods, including at least 30 different kinds of cottons and linens! Nathaniel
operated a retail store along with all his property investments and a gristmill.
Did you know that "dowlas" is a coarse linen cloth? Among fabrics in the list,
Nathaniel had dowlas, Irish linen, holland, garlick and oznabriggs (linen)
used for clothing, curtains and some beddings.

     Widow of John Heald. Martha HEALD married Richard WOODWARD, son of Richard WOODWARD and Jane NAYLE, in 1743. Martha HEALD died in 1755.

     Sarah Alice THORNBURY was employed. She married James WOODWARD, son of William WOODWARD. Sarah Alice THORNBURY was born on 3 July 1737. She died on 15 April 1818 at Probably Mifflin Co. PA at age 80.

     Mary McBRAYER married Robert SLOAN, son of Nancy Ann MEANS. Mary McBRAYER was born at Franklin Co. PA. She died after 1771 at Franklin Co. PA.

     Thomas DINLEY died at England. He was born before 1480 at England.

     Mary C. LAPSLEY married William John McCALL, son of William Wasson McCALL and Emma Amy McCANDLESS. Mary C. LAPSLEY was born on 28 December 1855. She died on 4 December 1893 at age 37.

     Dates from Edith McCall Young. Also married to Angeline Vensel, Nee McCandless (8/29/1834-1/23/1906). John McCALL married Margaret Jane PRYOR. John McCALL was born on 21 April 1831. He died on 1 April 1897 at age 65.

     Nancy Sutton McCALL was born on 12 August 1834. She died on 22 September 1843 at age 9.

     Dates from Edith McCall Young. Andrew Black McCALL married Mary Ann McJUNKIN. Andrew Black McCALL was born on 9 August 1838. He died on 7 February 1921 at age 82.

     Margaret Jane PRYOR married John McCALL, son of William John McCALL and Jane WASSON. Margaret Jane PRYOR was born on 18 August 1833. She died in 1851.

     Mary Ann McJUNKIN married Andrew Black McCALL, son of William John McCALL and Jane WASSON. Mary Ann McJUNKIN was born on 1 April 1843. She died in 1915.

     Jane G. BRANDON married William John McCALL, son of Samuel McCALL and Else Alice Elizabeth DAVIS, aout 1852. Information from Edith McCall Young. (Alternate spelling Brannan). She was the widow of Francis Curry, and had two children by that marriage: William Brandon Curry (1846-2/1/1923), who married Rachel E. Synder, daughter of Zephaniah Snyder and Rachel Kennedy, Margaret Ann Curry, who died in childhood, before 1858. William John Curry became the legal guardian of William G. Curry. Jane G. BRANDON was born in 1824. She died on 19 August 1899.

     Information from Edith McCall Young. Thomas Reed McCALL married Elizabeth E. McCANDLESS. Thomas Reed McCALL was born on 3 October 1852. He died in 1885.

     Elizabeth E. McCANDLESS married Thomas Reed McCALL, son of William John McCALL and Jane G. BRANDON. Elizabeth E. McCANDLESS was born in 1852. She died in 1916.

     David McClelland: One account that I read said that Else could not read or write, but when she pronounced her name it sounded like Alice. The Bible says ELSE. Else Alice Elizabeth DAVIS was Else. She was born in May 1777. She married Samuel McCALL in 1793. Else Alice Elizabeth DAVIS died on 14 November 1843 at age 66.

Died in March, Occ farmer. Cause: Inflamed lungs, ill for 6 days. He married Elizabeth MARTIN. Samuel McCALL Junior was born on 6 August 1806. He died on 30 March 1850 at age 43.

     Wilson McCALL was buried at Muddy Creek Presbyterian, Clay Twp., Butler County, PA. He was born in 1808. He died in 1847 at Butler, Butler County, PA.

     Allen McCALL was buried at Muddy Creek Pres, Clay Twp., Butler County, PA. He was born on 18 August 1810. He married Martha Humes TURK on 26 May 1838. Allen McCALL died on 26 May 1870 at age 59.

     Nancy Jane STEWART married John Edward McCALL, son of Samuel McCALL and Else Alice Elizabeth DAVIS. Nancy Jane STEWART was buried at Concord UP Churc, Concord Twp., Butler County, PA. She was born in 1801. She died on 31 March 1876.

     William McGeary STEWART married Rebecca Jane McCALL, daughter of Samuel McCALL and Else Alice Elizabeth DAVIS. William McGeary STEWART was employed. He died in 1845.
