We'll
have the restaurant (including the heated patio) to ourselves from 6:30
to 10:00 pm. You can look forward to sampling from the extensive
martini menu (featuring over 40 traditional and original drinks) while
enjoying the ambiance of historic Old Town Orange (pictured at left). Old
Town is famous for being one of Orange County's premier antique shopping
areas. (But most of the antique stores close around 5 p.m. on Sunday, so
if you want to shop, arrive early!) About 10 minutes from Disneyland,
Old Town will give you a sense of what this part of Southern California
was like before it became the "Happiest Place on Earth." You can
learn a little more about Old Town Orange by visiting: http://www.mouseplanet.com/chris/cj071700.htm
. (But please note that the "Old Town
Trolley" they mention no longer runs.)
How
do we get there?
Citrus City Grille (122 North Glassell Street, Orange, CA 92866; phone: 714/639-9600) is about 4 miles from the Anaheim Convention Center (and the ASA hotels). Map #1 shows you how to get from the Convention Center/hotel area in Anaheim to Old Town Orange. It doesn't require any freeway driving -- the route is easy and not traffic-congested on the weekends.
Map #1
From Convention
Center Way (where the Marriot, Hilton, and Convention Center are located),
make a right onto Harbor Boulevard, then make a left onto West Chapman
Avenue (a.k.a. Chapman). Chapman will take you all the way to the
restaurant (see map #1).
The restaurant is located on North Glassell Street and the best way to
get to it is to go around the circle intersection (see map
#2 below). But, the restaurant's parking
lot is in the back. So, to park there, before you hit the circle, turn
left on North Olive Street (again see map
#2). The parking lot is a few yards
up the street on your right. It will be the first of a series of
parking lots. You'll see Citrus City Grille signs on the street and
on the back of the building.
Map #2
We
hope to see you all there! The restaurant can hold about 150 people
-- so book early to reserve your place!
