Religious Support Groups
Some students from Sociolgy 167 class chose to analyze Homosexual
Support Group websites. Coincidentally, all of the websites listed
on this page contain a religious backbone. Here you will find that
this category has been divided into anti-queer and pro-queer. The
anti-queer basically supports homosexuals in
that they do not condemn them, but they help them "overcome" or "recover"
from their deviant behaviors. The pro-queer
sites affirm that homosexuality is not a "sin" and that it is okay to be
religious and to have different sexual orientations. However, both
types of websites advocate support and non-discrimination toward gays,
lesbians, bisexuals, etc.
