Here is a version of “A Measure of Media Bias“, which I wrote with Jeff Milyo. The paper was published in the November 2005 issue of the Quarterly Journal of Economics.

Click here to open an excel file of Political Quotients for House members and senators. I use PQ’s to measure the slant of media outlets. (They are the same as Adjusted ADA scores converted to the 1999 House scale.)
Click here to download adjusted interest group scores, including Adjusted (a.k.a ‘real’) ADA scores. The page also caontains the ‘R’ code I wrote to compute the scores.

On August 28, 2008, I resigned in protest from the UCLA faculty oversight committee for undergraduate admissions. Click here to see the report detailing why I resigned. The report discusses a memo that I sent to several key officials at UCLA, along with a draft report, notifying them of problems with UCLA admissions.
