58. Plutonium. With a program cost of $2 billion for 376 missiles and a weight of approximately 140 lb., an Aquila might be made of plutonium, to an order of magnitude. (This dollar figure includes ground support equipment.) It would be worth about five times its weight in platinum (c. $600/oz.), and about 1/2 its weight in plutonium (c. $5700/oz.), only about 1/200 of its weight in tritium.
