You may ask, what exactly is ROTC? The heart of it is the training. We seek to train our cadets in the science of warfare and the art of leadership. How do we do it? Through physical training, classes, weekend labs and Field Training Exercises. We also sponsor adventure training, including Ranger Challenge, rappelling and other exciting events.

Physical Training: Physical fitness is a key to effective leaders, and UCLA Army ROTC seeks to help you achieve your personal best. ROTC wants to develop your mind as well as your body.

Weekend Labs: This is where the practical side of leadership is learned and developed. From small unit tactics to first aid to basic rifle marksmanship, cadets are taught to master these skills.
Field Training Exercises: Squad and platoon training exercises, land navigation, and night maneuvers all add up to an extremely challenging and rewarding experience which takes place at Fort Hunter-Liggett near Monterey.
