These datasets are freely available, however we encourage you to become a registered user. By doing so we can alert you to changes, updates and corrections in the data, new data releases, and new publications. The information your supply is confidential and is not shared, sold or used for any other purpose. You can un-register at any time.

In this section you will find studies of the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of individuals in responding to earthquakes. Most studies have a portable and system file (SPSS), and PDF format questionnaires and codebooks. In order to retrieve a study, right-click on the links and choose 'Save Link As...'. Portable files should be 'imported' into SPSS, and system files can be saved or opened with SPSS. Codebooks and questionnaires can be opened with a PDF reader or saved. The data from some of the studies can be analyzed on-line. Click on the 'On-line Analysis' tab to be taken to the interactive site. The studies were processed for use with SDA. SDA is a set of programs for the documentation and Web-based analysis of survey data. It also includes procedures for creating customized subsets of datasets. SDA is developed and maintained by the Computer-assisted Survey Methods Program (CSM) at the University of California, Berkeley.
