Welcome: Visitors, Researchers and Volunteers to the UCLA Rock Art Archive!

The Rock Art Archive welcomes all visitors and researchers to our facility in The Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, Fowler Museum of Cultural History, UCLA. The core of our data is formed by extensive private collections. Areas represented, in addition to California, are the Far West and Southwest U.S.; some eastern and several midwestern states; some Pacific islands, and a teaching collection of European sites. The Archive also holds site reports, site records and research reports. All of our materials are non-circulating, and staff are on-site to assist you in locating the materials you need. The Rock Archive offers maximum access within the procedures established by Office of Historic Preservation, State of California, the professional ethics of archaeology and the operational limits of our facility. We strive to offer a genuinely useful, open, friendly and helpful service to all of our users.
