The students arrive at LAX bright and early for the flight to Baltimore. "It's not the heat, it's the humidity." Off the bus at Gettysburg College and my camera immediately fogs up! After some confusion about our accomodations we were assigned rooms on the 3rd floor of Huber Hall. Hot, muggy and no air conditioning! Some beat a hasty path to the motel across the street. Other hardier souls stuck it out for the first night.

Immediately upon arrival the hungry travelers are treated to a cold cut dinner in Glatfelter Lodge. Every morning we were picked up at our lodgings by two Gettysburg College vans. Our first stop this particular morning was a visit to the Schriver House. The house has been restored inside to its appearance at the time of the Civil War.
