The students arrive at LAX bright and early
for the flight to Baltimore. |
"It's not the heat, it's the humidity."
Off the bus at Gettysburg College and my camera immediately fogs
up! |
After some confusion about our accomodations
we were assigned rooms on the 3rd floor of Huber Hall. Hot, muggy
and no air conditioning! Some beat a hasty path to the motel
across the street. Other hardier souls stuck it out for the first
night. |

Immediately upon arrival the hungry travelers
are treated to a cold cut dinner in Glatfelter Lodge. |
Every morning we were picked up at our lodgings
by two Gettysburg College vans. |
Our first stop this particular morning was
a visit to the Schriver House. The house has been restored inside
to its appearance at the time of the Civil War. |

Tim Smith, a volunteer at the Adams County
Historical Society and a renowned expert on the Gettysburg civilians
led us on a tour of the museum. |
