Prof. Gallagher pointed out that it is thought that Gen. Reynolds was actually killed near this stop sign. Note Seminary cupola in background. Meredith Ave. junction with Reynolds Ave. facing east. As with many parts of the Gettysburg battlefield, Prof. Gallagher explained that McPherson's Woods was actually much less dense (less undergrowth) in 1863. McPherson's Woods near the spot where Reynolds was hit taken shortly after the battle. Note lack of undergrowth.
