UHA Board Meeting Minutes

Concern for involvement and dedication of board. Need to see more work being done by each board member.

 

-EVENTS-

U.S. Election Wrap Up

            -PSSO is not going to be involved.

            -Being held at 4:00pm, conference room in reserved from 3 -6:00pm.

Professor participation

            -Bret asking Prof. Robinson

            -Kurz is in.

            -Debra asking Prof. Reiff

            -Jon asking Prof. Wang

Any professor willing to participate is welcome. Brandon contacting Professors Bartchy, Kenan and Gelvin.

 

Handing out mini flyers around Bunche – few hours needed from each board member. Areas targeted: Bunche, Public Policy, Dodd, Rolfe, Campbell, Perloff.

Posting fliers in buildings, elevators, etc.

-Jon dealing with CSP and ORL

            -Debra in charge of Ackerman postings

Class announcements and postings by Daily Bruin kiosks.

            -Jon handling Daily Bruin, Bruin Walk and My UCLA notices.

-NEWS-

Bret received a check for $500 to help support UHA from his father. We will be sending out a letter of appreciation with our new UHA letterheads. Possible honorary membership?

 

 

-PLANNING-

 

Sara has talked with Prof Terraciano who said he was both honored and pleased with our

plans of hosting a lunch with him that was open to both UHA members and his students.

-December 2nd won’t work for him.

-Wednesday, December 1st at noon is a workable date and time.

-Due to departmental meetings at this time, we may need to hold the lunch in the lounge.

Sara to double check with Terraciano in 1:00p is not workable.
Jon checking on whether or not the conference room will be occupied at this time.

-We may need to cap the number at 30 students. Have interested students RSVP by Friday, November 267th at 5pm.

 

UHA website design is poor. Tech guys for the department will update our info if we email them.

-Board to review website and determine what needs to be changed. Interest in getting an historical picture for the site.

 

Bret changing UHA template. No new applications received.

 

Sara has list of interested students from the summer. She will be emailing it to Jon.

 

Jon to email Tim Shultz (President of the Classics Society) to determine likelihood of co-programming an event.
