The Navin and Pratima Doshi Endowed Chair in Pre-Modern Indian History was created in the fall of 1998. The first holder of the chair is Dr. D.R. SarDesai, an eminent historian who has been with UCLA for 30 years.

 This site has three basic purposes: 

  • To provide comprehensive bibiliograhies to research students.
  • To provide information on other web sites on India available in India and the United States.
  • To provide a community resource to further the study of South Asia.
