DIGITAL TOOLS TO ENHANCE LEARNING

 

ERIN SANDERS, Director of the UCLA Center for Education Innovation and Learning in the Sciences (CEILS) and a member of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics; MURIEL MCCLENDON, History’s Vice-Chair for Graduate Affairs who also serves as Chair of the General Education Governance Committee, Undergraduate Education Initiative’s University Studies Committee, and UCLA’s Mellon-Mays initiative; and NICK BURKHART, administrator of and instructor in Geography’s Geospatial Program will each discuss how they use software tools to enhance learning in their classes. They will address issues of active learning, mastery tools and student self-assessment, and grading and feedback tools and the ways in which they have had a positive impact on student learning.
