Welcome to the website of the UCLA History Graduate Student Association. This resource has been established to facilitate communication within our community: Between the organization and students and amongst students as well. To this end, among the information you will find here are details about the HGSA and up-to-date listings on what we are planning for the 2007-2008 academic year. As a part of this community, you have the potential to help us formulate the shape of this website. Do email us if there are any features that you would like to see added!

As the largest body of its kind in the United States, the UCLA Department of History can, at times, be a daunting if not sometimes confusing place to figure out. In addition to the support you will receive from the faculty and staff, the HGSA and all of its members are committed to ensuring that the pursuit of our collective academic careers here proceeds fluidly. This membership consists of you, the History graduate student, and you can assume your role as an active member whenever you wish in a variety of ways. There are no fees to be paid for the membership. Participate in the occasional meeting, volunteer on one of our committees, or come along for some of the diverse and exciting events we offer each quarter, it’s up to you.
