CLIC Speaker Abstracts Susan Perry (Anthropology, UCLA): " Capuchin Communication " Oct. 11, 2006, 5pm. Haines 332. In this talk I will summarize some of the main findings from my 17-year study of social behavior in wild capuchin monkeys. After describing the typical social dynamics in capuchin society, I will describe the communicative repertoire (vocal, gestural and olfactory) and discuss the relationship between the signal structure and function for a few signals. I will also discuss the types of methods used by field primatologists to learn about communication and the negotiation of social relationships in wild animals.
