Biography:
Ellie was born in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. She grew up in Magdalena, Jalisco, nearby town. She has lived in Los angeles since she immigrated to California. Ellie earned her B.A. in Hispanic Literature with emphasis in Chicano literature in 1988 and her M. A. in Hispanic Literature also from UCLA in 1990.
