NEW REQUIRMENTS: ASIAN AMERICAN STUDIES DEPARTMENTAL MAJOR

Students declaring the Asian American Studiese major after Summer 2005 will be held to the DEPARTMENTAL MAJOR requirements. To learn more about these requirements, please visit: http://www.asianam.ucla.edu/majordept.html.

The departmental major requires that all of its courses are listed in Asian American Studies, however, there are now three (3) allied field courses that MAY allow for course overlap wtih another major. The new major permits students to opt out of the Asian language requirement with one (1) approved upper division writng course.

Trasfer students entering in Fall 2005 are allowed to choose between the IDP major and the Departmental major.
