The UCLA Department of Asian American Studies will be holding its commencement ceremony on Sunday, 14 June 2009, from 12:30 pm to 2 pm in Schoenberg Hall. The ceremony will celebrate the graduation of Asian American Studies minors, majors, and Master of Arts students.

Please note that students will line up for the ceremony at 12 pm, but actual ceremony begins at 12:30 pm.  Please be on time!

The departmental commencement will consist of the Asian American Studies chair's address and Asian American Studies student and faculty speakers. 

Ticket orders for the Asian American Studies Department Commencement must be made through your My.UCLA website.   The site will take ticket orders from April 28th through May 13th.  The first four tickets to the event are free.  Additional tickets are ten dollars ($10.00) each.

Students are eligible to receive ten tickets for the Asian American Studies Department Commencement. Extra tickets will be given out based on availability.  Please contact Barrett Korerat at bkorerat@asianam.ucla.edu if you would like to order more than ten commencement tickets.

The Department of Asian American Studies strongly encourages students to also attend the Asian and Pacific Islander Graduation (APIG) later in the afternoon.  APIG offers a comprehensive and festive ceremony and it is open to all UCLA students.
