Kin Based Society
Individuals compute kin relation to other individuals using a generative relation set
Generative relation set is logically complete, hence the relation set can be reconstructed even with imperfect transmission of the relation set
Generative relation set is individually learned in a manner similar to language acquisition; same relation set is inferred despite incomplete information, hence relation set is shared across individuals
Boundary of society determined by collection of individuals who can compute kin relation to one another
Kin relations are explicitly linked to expected behavior patterns, including cooperation, among kin
“Cheaters” challenge the relation set and behavior patterns, hence motivation to punish cheater as a way to maintain the relation set and expected patterns of behavior (self identity)
