Information for Prospective Field Assistants

Prof. Susan Perry and I are currently recruiting field assistants to collect data on the white-faced capuchins of Lomas Barbudal and surrounding areas. At least one position will open in July 2006, and additional positions will open during the following two years.  Because of the long training period required for these positions, assistants must make at least a 12-month commitment to the project. Before applying, please read this detailed guide to the working and living conditions at the study site.  If, after reading it, you're still interested, please send us (by email or old-fashioned mail) an application packet containing:

  • a cover letter
  • a C.V. or resume
  • college transcripts -- unofficial or photocopied copy OK (for international applicants, this means an official list of your college or university courses and the grades you received)
  • the names, titles/affiliations, and email addresses of three references, ideally including an academic supervisor, a fieldwork supervisor, and someone with whom you've shared a cooperative living situation. Please don't ask these people to send us complete letters; we have our own sets of questions for them.
