Anthropology M241: Topics in Linguistic Anthropology: Linguistic Relativity

Assignment 4 Review the articles and chapters by Whorf and his critics and assess the extent to which the criticism of his claims on linguistic relativity (i) is justified by his own writings and (ii) has ramifications for our conceptualization of the relationship between language and culture (750 words).         Check the readings on the syllabus page. There might be some changes from the original list. Some of the readings available in the Anthropology Reading Room, Haines 352; some other readings were handed out in class.
